Apple Ipod Itouchs get faster, and Cheaper

Great news for the Apple Itouch buyer.  In anticipation of increased competition from Microsoft’s Zune rollout, Apple has not only dropped the price of many Apple Itouch models, they’ve also made them up to 50% faster!  They also announced a new higher capacity Ipod touch with 64 GB of storage.

So if you are in the market for a new Apple Ipod or Ipod Touch, here’s the new pricing structure, as it stands right now:

Apple Ipod Touch 8GB:  $199

Apple Ipod Touch 16GB: $239

Apple Ipod Touch 32 GB: $299

Apple Ipod Touch 64 GB:  $399

As I mentioned, the the 64GB and 32GB iPod touches are now 50-percent faster than the before, and feature support for Open GL|ES version 2.0, the cross-platform graphics API.

I think Apple just made Microsofts upcoming holiday season a little bleaker with respect to Zune.

As always, check out Best Buy for the latest sales, as you may be able to pick up a new Apple Ipod touch for even less than the MSRP.
