Just a quickie update for those people who own a Nintendo Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station made by Psyclone Essentials or React. I just happened to buy one of these Wii chargers a couple weeks ago. These Wii Chargers are being recalled due to reports of several of the batteries overheating, causing a risk of actual burns. YIKES! The recall affects the Psyclone Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station (model PSE6501) and the React Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station (model RT530), according to the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Apparently the Psyclone Essentials and the React Wii Recharge systems are the only ones with issues (naturally I would pick one with issues). There have only been 6 reported cases of overheating, and there has actually been two reported hand burn cases (so far) for these particular Wii Charger Stations. Consumers can contact Psyclone at 888-344-4702 Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm Eastern time, or e-mail productsafety@psyclonegamer.com for more details. The company also said a “redesigned replacement product” will eventually be provided, but gave no timeframe.
So, because of these risks, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission is issuing a recall of 220,000 of these Wii 4 dock recharge stations! Ouch, that has got to suck for these companies bottom lines. These units are sold at all the big retails including Target, Toys R Us, Amazon and Best Buy (where I bought mine). I may not surprise you that these units were made in China.
Oh well, now I have to run off to Best Buy and return this, and as usual walk out of there with a few other gadgets I didn’t need. Anyone know of a Wii 4 dock charger that doesn’t require asbestos gloves?

what about the PSE530 model number? is there a recall on that one also? plus two of my three remotes do not charge. whats going on? i have to use one controller. let me know something.
The PSE530 was not part of the overheating recall. However, on the Psyclone website they do mention an unrelated problem for PSE530 model. You can check it out here: http://www.psyclonegamer.com/products/index.asp?brandtype=essentials&id=1226
